The build up to 2017 continues at Team WNT

14/10/2016

Hot on the heels of the announcements of Eileen Roe and Gabriella Shaw joining Team WNT elite ladies cycle team for 2017, the team management is continuing to build strength in depth re-signing key riders from its successful 2016 squad. Rejoining for her third season with the Sheffield-based team is multiple National Champion Hannah Walker. Hannah’s record includes being 4x British National Champion, (once in the Madison with Hannah Barnes, 3 x Derny Champion), Multiple National Championship medallist, overall team winner in the Matrix Fitness GP Tour Series 2012 and a 4th place in the National Criterium Championships 2014.

Claude Sun, Global Managing Director WNT says: “Hannah has been an integral part of the team over the past two years and her energy and enthusiasm played a major part in the early success of Team WNT, especially in the Matrix Fitness GP Tour Series. It is therefore a pleasure to welcome her back for 2017. As we push forward with our ambitions as A UCI registered team she will play a vital role both on and off the bike in our development.”

In addition to riding for the team Hannah will also undertake social media duties, keeping the Team’s supporters up to date with events. This ties in nicely with her existing media work that she is involved with, including the Tour of Britain, and more recently commentating as part of Eurosport’s UCI World Championship coverage.

Hannah comments: “With Team WNT applying for a UCI Continental license in 2017 it was an easy decision to make to re-sign with the team. The level of racing is going to be significantly higher than we have faced up to now, but the support of WNT has been phenomenal and the combination of the team of riders that is being built and WNT’s commitment to the development of the team, I am confident that we will deliver to everyone’s expectations during 2017.”
